Workshop at the Jazzschool in Berkeley

Sunday, July 27th Noon-3pm

Join Inga Swearingen for a 3-hour workshop focusing on improvisation and utilizing
improvised material to create compelling arrangements of jazz standards. This all-
vocal workshop approaches arranging from a simple, spontaneous standpoint. Discover a bass line, set a mood, make the arrangement yours! Students are welcome to bring copies of a favorite song to the workshop.

Day of Creative Women

Saturday, August 9th

A beautiful day of sharing with creative women in all mediums.  The event is at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo, with booths set up for visual arts and concerts in the ampitheatre.  I will be joined by two wonderful musicians, Elizabeth Riordan on bass and Linda Vanasupa on guitar and piano.   Check back for more specific show time.

I'll be singing some big band charts written by Fred Sturm for Bobby McFerrin with the Northridge big band directed by Matt Harris.  This music is amazing!  Wordless and a beautiful mixing of classical and jazz and world music.

Live Oak Music Festival 2008

Inga will be performing at the Live Oak Music Festival over Father's Day weekend, June 13-15th.  She will be playing with a fantastic line up, Jeff Miley on guitar, Dylan Johnson on bass, Darrell Voss on percussion and Britta Swearingen singing harmonies. Live Oak is a wonderful, beautiful weekend of sharing and camping!  Mainstage performance is 5pm, Saturday.  Come join for a  workshop with Inga also on Saturday at 2:45pm at "Stage Too".
